Hi there, I’m Simeon Pantelidis. I became a Greek interpreter for the Pennsylvania Judicial System in 2019 and have been interpreting ever since.
In addition to interpreting, I teach, tutor and do translation work. I also do several other kinds of documentation and written work: it mostly depends on what you need, which you can let me know by emailing me (see the Homepage). Some of my work includes translating a Greek memoir into English, Το Μπάρκο (Τhe Embarkment), legal document translation, translation projects in education, and medical/pharmaceutical translations.
My linguistic background is as a native bilingual speaker born and raised in the U.S. speaking both English and Greek. Growing up, I attended a Greek supplementary school and passed the C1 level Ellinomatheia exam while in high school. I later lived in Greece after graduating college. I continue to teach Greek language today and hold dual U.S. and Greek citizenship.
My Professional Background
Medical
I worked as a medical equipment and services salesman before beginning my interpreting career. Part of my training was on HIPAA and ADA compliance. As an interpreter, I have completed the Bridging the Gap medical training.
Educational
I have taught Greek language for public and private schools and obtained a teaching certificate for World Language from the state of Delaware. I love teaching, so feel free to email me about anything teaching-related.
Legal
I worked as a court reporter before beginning my interpreting career. I am a notary public in the state of Pennsylvania. I have held Public Trust clearance during the course of my language work as a contractor.
